Sunday, 4 August 2012, 5:26pm

A report was made by Mrs Helen Nichols about a recent pickpocket incident which had happened to her. According to her, this is not the first time that it is occurring. Earlier last month,   her son, Alex, too experienced the same thing as her.

"It was too sudden. I remember me walking back to my house and I was carrying a few bags of groceries and my wallet was just in my back jeans pocket. I was walking slowly though since the stuff I carried were heavy. It was sudden. I experienced a violent banged towards my arm, and I could feel a slight thug at the back of my pocket and for all I saw was this man running away stealing my wallet. I shouted and wanted to chase after him but he was too fast." - Mrs Helen Nichols

It was too fast for Mrs Nichols to chase after the guy and she could not recognise the man's face.

"The same thing happened to me too when I was walking along the neighborhood after school to home. I didn't hear anyone approaching me since I had my earpieces on and I was blasting loud music. And for all I know, suddenly someone bumped into me and after which my pocket felt empty. I realised my wallet's gone." - Alex, Mrs Nichols's son

Mrs Nichols and her son were 2 of several incidents which occured at the same area which is Valley Street. This has greatly made the residents worry for their safety.
